The aspheric generator project is under way with enhancements to the Nanocentre about to begin.

The IKC's Research and Development sub-committee is currently reviewing new projects including a project on in-process metrology

IKC Patent Application

The IKC is committed to developing a portfolio of intellectual property, and has just filed its first patent application.

The patent which covers a novel profilometer design was invented by Dr. John Mitchell and Dr.Paul Moranz. It was filed by patent attorneys Anthony Burrows on November 28th

 

 

Ultra Precision Technologies MSc Selection Day, OpTIC October 9th

Industrial sponsors had their first opportunity to meet with the 08/09 cohort of MSc students.

The companies were impressed with the calibre of this year's cohort and most are now considering appropriate thesis projects and student sponsorship.

Dr Paul Comley has joined the IKC as a Senior Research Design Engineer, based at Cranfield. Previously at Cranfield Precision, he brings with him his extensive experience of machine tool design and manufacture
